Know the source and permissions for each recording before using it outside your personal listening or experimentation.
AI generation
The current generation feature uses Meta MusicGen through Replicate. The model weights are released under CC BY-NC 4.0. DesiMixTape offers this feature for personal, non-commercial experimentation and does not grant commercial-use rights or guarantee copyright ownership, originality or clearance of generated recordings.
Discovery and demonstration tracks
Jamendo recordings are existing recordings by their credited artists, not new AI compositions. Their individual licences control attribution, redistribution, modification and commercial use. A playable or downloadable URL is not permission to reuse a recording. Check the original track and obtain a suitable licence before publication or commercial use.
Prompts and sharing
Describe instruments, mood and musical traditions rather than requesting copies of specific songs or impersonation of a real performer. Do not submit copyrighted lyrics or other material without permission. You are responsible for permissions and accurate attribution when sharing any output.
Copyright reports
Send reports to ganderecom@gmail.com with your contact details, the work you own or represent, the exact DesiMixTape URL or track identifier, and an explanation of the alleged infringement. State that your report is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised representative. We may restrict access while reviewing a report and contact the affected user where appropriate.
